1. love的基本意思是“爱恋,热爱,喜欢”,指某人特别喜爱某人、某物或做某件事情。还可引申表示对某人、某物的敬拜或以仁爱之心对待某事。不仅表示强烈的喜欢,而且表示炽热的依恋。用于能激起高尚情感的人或事。love有时也用于不太重要的事物,是like的强势语。
2. love可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词、代词、动词不定式或动名词作简单宾语,还可接以动词不定式充当补足语的复合宾语。可用于被动结构。

1. love的基本意思是“喜爱,热爱”,是不可数名词,指人对某人或某事情有独钟。可指家庭成员、亲戚朋友间的爱,也可指男女间的情爱、性爱。在非正式口语中可指招人喜爱的人或物,此时是可数名词。

4. love与like的比较：作动词时，其语气强过like。love常用作like。相同的是，两者后面都可接不定式或动名词。表示一时的爱好时，常接不定式，不接动名词。但是表示常时间的的爱好时，不定式或动名词都可接。但是动名词在表示简单的动作或情况时比不定式普遍，而不定式在表示复杂的情况时比动名词普遍。

love to-v, love v-ing

两者的区别是：接动词不定式时,常描述一个可能发生的动作,含有“偶尔为之”的意味,而接动名词则描述一个一般的情况,含有“经常如此”的意味。试比较：

I'd love to visit the country, but I've got to stay here in the city.

我想到乡下去旅游,但我不得不呆在 城里。

I love visiting the country. It's so nice, walking and getting some fresh air.

我喜欢到乡下去。散步、呼吸新鲜空 气,这有多好。

love, enjoy, like

这组词表示不同程度的“喜爱”“喜欢”。其区别是：

like表示一般意义上的“喜欢”, enjoy带有欣赏性质的“喜欢,喜爱”,且含“享受”之义,而love指炽烈的爱恋,感情比like深刻。例如:

Leave whenever you like.随便什么时候离开都可以。

I was learning and enjoying it like any child.我就像任何儿童一样学习着,享受着学习的乐趣。

He can't love but hate.他只能恨不能爱。

affection，love，attachment

这些名词均含“爱、热爱”之意。

affection指对人的爱慕或深厚、温柔的感情，侧重感情的深沉。

love比affection的语气更强。表示一种难以控制的激情。

attachment通常用于书面文字中，既可指对某人某物的喜欢，又可指出自理智对某人或某物的热爱，尤指长时间的爱。

like，love，enjoy，fancy，adore，prefer

这些动词都有“喜欢、喜爱”之意。

like最常用词，往往只表不太强烈的兴趣或关注，不带强烈的感情，除非另加修饰语。

love不但表示强烈的喜欢，而且含依恋之情，因此多用于能激起深厚情感的人或物。

enjoy指对能提供感观或智力上满足或快乐的东西表示欣赏或喜爱。

fancy指喜爱投合自己心意、嗜好或欲望等的人或物。

adore非正式用词，口语体，指非常喜爱，带强烈的感情色彩。

prefer指有选择性或偏向性的喜欢。
